5 Reasons to Choose a Notebook Over a Desktop Computer
Many of us have to work on the computer desktop, when it is used to buy time for a new computer, we do not consider other options. Today, computer notebooks - which were once called laptops - offer a number of advantages over a computer desktop. Here are just five reasons why you should take a second look at notebooks.
1. Mobility
You could, for pulling up a chair to use your computer, but it makes much more sense to your computer, drag up to your chair. Laptopscan be used safely at your desk, but you also have the opportunity to them to the point where it is most convenient. Maybe you want to surf the Web in the evening in the living room or over your favorite blogs before bedtime. Laptops with wireless connectivity allowed you throughout your home, so you can check your e-mail, or rather your internet shopping everywhere.
Of course, notebooks also be useful for those on the go. Student laptops can the classand the library, while entrepreneurs can take them on trips. With WiFi spread so far, it makes sense to have a laptop on vacation. With the right notebook, it is easy to take photos with your digital camera, upload them and email them to friends and family before returning home myself. Or you can use to write a blog and leave the pictures from your digital camera.
2. Better Displays
The size and quality of the PC or notebookDisplays is so dramatically improved that much difference between laptops and a desktop computer. For example, you can get the MacBook from Apple, with a 13.3-inch widescreen LCD (1280 x 800 pixels), a 15.4-inch widescreen LCD (1440 x 900 pixels) or a 17-inch widescreen (1680 x 1050 pixels). Likewise, the Compaq Presario has a 15.4-inch display.
3. Lighter weight
A few years ago even the lightest laptop to drag around a pain was. Today, however, laptops arealways easier on the back. The MacBook is just over an inch thick, and the Toshiba Portege weighs in at about four pounds. While that's still heavy compared to the new ultra-light convertible (Fujitsu LifeBook U810 coming weighs only a pound and a half), it is a significant improvement over the old seven-pound laptops.
4. Better Computing and Battery Power
Historically, two disadvantages of laptops have their limited RAM, very little space on the disk, and shortBattery life. The times have changed, however, and laptops now have so much power under the hood as a desktop cousins. The MacBook, for example, has 1 GB of memory (configurable up to 4GB) and a hard disk that is configured to 250 GB. This means that your software and you will be humming right along like zip quickly able, through programs and as easily as on your desktop. Similarly batteries in laptops today do not conk out hot and not not.
5. MoreFeatures
For older laptops, the computer, the size and weight limits the number and types of features. Today, with smaller processors and other components, there is room for more features in notebooks pack. For example, the MacBook has a DVD player, integrated webcam, built-in wireless capability, two USB ports and a FireWire port, built-in microphone, audio and digital input / output.
There are so many benefits have notebooks that are before you buy your nextComputer, it is worthwhile to make a for a ride.

| Review by Craig Smith (USA) 2010-07-29 The netbook has been great. I thought I'd need time to adapt to a small keyboard, but the Toshiba is very ergonomic and easy to adjust.
