Extended Expeditions With Your Laptop, Netbook, Or MacBook Using Solar Power
First, I want to say that you start photos from laptop computers to put solar panels misleading, but typically you will see photos to the Internet is on the websites of promoting solar energy. The truth is … You can not usually charge a laptop directly from a solar panel.
Why?
1. The output voltage of the panel is probably not with your computer
2. The jury will not likely come with a connection for your computer
3. Laptop batteries are not easy for an invitedSource, such as passive solar energy
4. You certainly can not "Run" a 30-watt unit from a 10 watt power supply
So, like a solar-powered laptop can be created?
Actually it is not too difficult, but it does require a little planning.
So here it is. Step-by-step.
1. Select a solar panel, match your power consumption
We assume that your laptop is like most others, and consumes approximately 30 watts, while it is running. Some laptops with large dual processors etc can be up to 100Watts, when they burn, DVD, or other intensive operations. But for our purposes and under the condition that you take a real person who knows how to dial-up settings are back their power, we are using the default number of 30 watts continuous.
Now you need to determine your usage.
How many hours per day, you have absolutely on the computer? The minimum now, without breaks. If you use the computer for 1 hours a day, then you need to compensate for the 30 watt-hourswith your solar panel, which equated to a minimum 10 watt solar panel for most areas (May-September) will be.
2. Save the solar
Sunlight and make solar power is unpredictable. Thus, most good, reliable, solar power systems provide a means for storing the power produced by the panel, so that it can be used when and how it is used. You can run a 1-watt GPS directly from a solar panel on a cloudy day, because even on a cloudy day, should be a 5-watt solar panel capable of providing 20% of its peakOutput (ie 20% of 5Watt = 1 watt).
But what if the unit is that you need to run larger than the peak performance of your solar panel that? As a 10-watt solar panel can power a 30 watt computer?
Simple, put the solar panel all day connected to a battery, so that all solar energy is collected and stored in the battery. The equipment can be attached when needed the battery - batteries are usually in a position to release more power than was used in order to charge, and only theirCapacity will determine how long you run away from them.
3. Enter the stored energy to the laptop
Let's electricity grid to avoid, if possible …
An AC inverter is a small device, the battery pack to household power outlet transforms "AC" power.
AC power is something you want in a portable power application, if at all possible be avoided. It is documented in other areas of our site, such as an AC inverter is very inefficient and requires system support, which makes portability a bitdifficult.
The other, better option is to use a voltage converter to provide the power to need your laptop. Whether you want to charge directly from the solar panel, or through your solar storage battery, the voltage converter to ensure the correct voltage of the battery of your computer.
In conclusion …
Creating a mobile solar energy system using flexible, foldable solar panels required for longer expeditions with your laptop computer carefulConsiderations. The choice of a solar panel that sufficient offsets your electricity consumption. Save generating electricity from the solar panel for future use, and the variable effect of moderate sun. And finally, provide, with a voltage transformer, or AC inverter, with your laptop with the proper voltage electricity.
