Allow me to this article with a disclaimer to start. I'm not a tech junkie. I am a student and I am very computer to read and write, but I am an expert in any way. What I am giving you is an honest review of the notebook at a very affordable $ 250.

It had died about a month ago when my old Gateway laptop finally upon me. I had to keep it alive support over the past years and had attached it to an external monitor because the screen does not work anymore. As there is only one daysnot turn over. These just happen to be the day when I had a mid-through the next day. I jumped on craigslist looking for a notebook under $ 250 that I could find. As a student, low cost was my main concern. I saw many people selling this Acer computer for about $ 350, the all new as "tender", or "still in the field." All of them looked like a very reasonable price to me, and were on the summit of more than my budget, but I was still holding out for a notebookunder $ 250.

I decided to dig a little deeper and the Extensa took on a special Best Buy for $ 249.99, the same ones that many people advertising on craigslist for $ 350. I rushed to my nearest Best Buy just found out they had just sold out. The salesperson called the nearest store and told me she had nine in stock, but when I got there, it was about 15 minutes two to the left. Against this background, I decided to get my Acer. Out of curiosity, I asked the BestBuy a seller, what he thought of the computer, and his answer was: "It is a piece of junk." he said. "You're lucky, get a month out. It is a notebook under $ 250, what do you expect?" Now I'm here, a month into my purchase, typing up this review.

Once I booted the computer, I was immediately impressed. The vivid colors of the screen and the fluid of Windows 7 is something that is definitely a plus. Because it was like a cheap buy, the computer was virtually no pre-installed software on it, another plus in my opinion. It was not bogged down with running programs that I had virtually no idea what they were. I immediately installed my essential programs: iTunes, guitarPro, Microsoft Office, Firefox, and even some DVD burning software. I recently uploaded some Rosetta Stone software, which is surprisingly running without problems. Not bad for a notebook under $ 250.

This computer has everything I need. Keep in mind, I wanted a cheap computer, please allow me to research online, type up papers would do, and not simple multimedia tasks, such as small amounts of music and software. This computer has far exceeded my expectations. The webcam was not largeSelling point in my opinion, but it's great for things like Skype chat. The 2 GB of RAM can be upgraded, but as long as I keep my tasks to a minimum, I can not predict it always a problem. The 160 GB hard drive seems in comparison to my 60-GB drive I had on my previous laptop, which was only 3 years old. The battery life keeps it free of charge and is consistently accurate, with the rest of life.

All in all, this computer will do everything I need it, and much more. I followed the searchany type of notebook under $ 250 I could find and ended up with a notebook that perfectly suited my needs. Will there be a long-term substitute for a high-tech computer? Of course not. But in these economic times, a perfect computer, just about to do some work. Shop around, because the business comes and goes without much warning would be, but if you can find it, I highly recommend.
